Bible
Study
We are
currently taking a short break from our weekly Bible study.
Every Tuesday evening (during
term time) we have been studying the Bible book by book, verse by verse - usually
a chapter or two each week. By studying all of God's word we
have to study the 'difficult' verses as well as our favourite ones,
resulting in a better understanding of the Bible as a whole - indeed
Paul said (when writing to Timothy) that ALL scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16, emphasis
added).
Books covered at our weekly Bible
Study so far include 1 & 2 Peter,
1, 2 & 3 John,
Jude,
Revelation,
Ruth,
Daniel,
Genesis,
Exodus,
Leviticus,
Numbers,
Deuteronomy and
Joshua.
We have also recently studied
where the English translations of the Bible came from (and the
differences between them) - our second time of doing so in the last
5 years. Additional studies have included a look at the
worrying nature of the Emerging Church movement, and the topic of
Salvation (what we are saved from, how we are saved - and how we
tell others they need to be saved).
Notes for a number of our verse by verse studies are available in
our Verse By Verse section
here, and you will soon be able to watch videos of our verse by
verse studies of Joshua here
on the DCF website (or download them for later).
Update for
2012:
We are currently taking a short break from our weekly Bible studies,
so this also means that there is no online broadcast.
